Jason Kelly
The first family members to ride this event were brothers
Patrick and Jason in 1995. They were joined by their parents Brian and Roxanne
in 2000, nephew Daniel in 2003, their sister Rebecca in 2006, Patrick’s wife
Pauleen in 2006, and Patrick and Pauleen’s son Nicholas in 2007.

riders off the start line so the 640km ride was done solo – the longest solo “break”
in New Zealand cycling? The second finisher was 1hr 10m slower. Cold &
windy conditions (especially over Friday night) slowed times. Lap splits were
approximately 5hrs 10m 1st lap, 6hrs 05m 2nd lap, 6hrs
57m 3rd lap and 7hrs 07m 4th lap.

Patrick has actually completed over 10 laps as when riding the first part of
